NEILL WRIGHT STUDIOS PTY LTD
Neill Wright (b. 1985) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Johannesburg, South Africa, whose practice spans sculpture, printmaking, and painting. Driven by a deep curiosity about the world and a strong affinity for the natural environment, Wright translates his observations and experiences into bold, layered, and vibrant works.
His artworks often merge abstract and representational elements, creating visually dynamic compositions that evoke both seduction and unease. Through geographically impossible landscapes and imaginative visual mashups, Wright reflects on the chaos, complexity, and contradictions of everyday life. His work invites viewers to engage with the exhilaration and uncertainty inherent in the unknown.
Wright graduated with distinction in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art (Honours) from the Michaelis School of Fine Art at the University of Cape Town, where he was awarded the Simon Gerson Prize for outstanding achievement. In 2009, he completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Fine Art, specializing in printmaking.
In 2013, The Times named Wright one of the ten emerging South African artists to watch. Since then, he has exhibited widely in both solo and group exhibitions and has participated in numerous South African and international art fairs.
His work is held in a range of corporate and private collections internationally, reflecting the broad appeal of his evocative and exploratory visual language.
