SIHLE SIBISI VANITY INK

Sihle Sibisi is a South African self taught tattoo artist, born in Swaziland in 1997 and relocated to South Africa in 2013. With over five years of experience, Sibisi specializes in fine-line work, portraits, and custom black-and-gray tattoos, offering both small and large-scale designs. Many of his pieces include a touch of red upon client request, reflecting his attention to detail and personalized approach.

As the founder of Vanity Ink, Sibisi has cultivated a reputation for excellence, hosting numerous influential celebrities and prominent clients. Since opening his first self-funded studio on 1 December 2021, his practice has evolved from primarily small tattoos to large-scale, intricate custom works, which he identifies as a signature strength of his craft.

Looking forward, Sibisi’s vision for the next decade is to mentor and inspire emerging artists, expand into other artistic mediums, and collaborate with experienced professionals to continually refine and innovate his creative practice. Recognizing the need for accessibility and artistic focus, he relocated Vanity Ink to a central, art-focused studio, positioning the space as a hub for both artistic creation and community engagement.

Artistic Philosophy

“My work has evolved over the past few years from mostly small tattoos to large scale detailed pieces that have been custom made, which I believe has been the selling point of my craft. My vision for the next 10 years is to teach and lead more people who are as passionate as I am about the craft, to create and polish other mediums of art, and to work alongside those who have experience in those particular crafts.”
