Luvuyo Msila (b. 1981) is a South African fashion designer and entrepreneur born on 2 June 1981 in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. He is the co-founder and director of Urban Rural Designs, a clothing brand that specializes in streetwear, custom-made garments, and school uniforms, including matric jackets, tunics, and tracksuits. In addition to garment production, Msila also provides professional pattern making and grading services for clients interested in developing their own designs.
Urban Rural Designs operates from 15 Genop House, New Centre, Selby, Johannesburg, where Msila continues to grow the brand and collaborate with clients across the fashion industry.
Msila began his professional journey working as a designer and merchandiser at SunGoddess from 2006 to 2009. In 2010, he joined Gina of Charles as a supervisor, gaining further experience in fashion production and management. In 2011, he established his own label, Urban Rural Designs, marking an important step in his entrepreneurial career. He has also collaborated with designer Gugulam as a pattern maker.
In 2015, Msila worked as a Clothing Facilitator at VEB & CELE Associate, where he later became Head of the Clothing Department, contributing to training and skills development in the field of fashion and garment production.
