Solomon Mugutso is a Zimbabwean-born visual artist based in Johannesburg, South Africa. From childhood, Mugutso exhibited a keen eye for human expression, sketching the distinct features of people he encountered on the streets. Today, he is renowned for his innovative use of sand as a medium, collecting soil from diverse locations and uniting them into single portrait pieces. Each portrait becomes a symbol of collective identity, reflecting the inter connected and shared consciousness of communities across regions.
